Teaching Artists

Young Audiences is seeking professional artists of all disciplines with experience working with children in a formal or informal setting (such as a school, community center, summer camp, or arts workshop). At the Academy, you will collaborate with an experienced academic teacher to design and deliver arts-integrated lessons every morning, and, in the afternoons, will teach an arts focused class in your respective art form.

Fine Arts Teachers (Teaching Artists)

Young Audiences is seeking fine arts teachers of all disciplines (music, dance, theatre, visual and multi-media art). At the Academy, fine arts teachers have the opportunity to step into the role of teaching artists, collaborating with an experienced academic teacher to design and deliver arts-integrated lessons every morning, and each afternoon teach an arts focused class in your respective art form.

Director of Operations

Young Audiences is seeking Summer Arts & Learning Academy (SALA) Directors of Operations to work side-by-side with the SALA Site Director to promote and support the overall vision and mission of SALA. The Director of Operations is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site specifically overseeing student achievement, daily attendance and data collection and reporting, climate and culture, scheduling, building and staff supervision, and emergency procedures.

Artist Apprentice Interns

Young Audiences is seeking Artist Apprentice Interns to work side-by-side with a professional teaching artist. Through this unique apprenticeship, interns are able to learn from the best teaching artists in the state. Interns build valuable teaching skills and help to nurture the strengths and growth of Baltimore City students through active engagement during Summer Arts & Learning Academy classes.

Office Managers

Young Audiences is seeking Summer Arts & Learning Academy (SALA) Office Managers to ensure the smooth operation of all administrative aspects of SALA sites. The Office Manager is often the first person a parent, student, or visitor to the Academy will meet, as their primary responsibility is to ensure that the site office is staffed at all times and running efficiently and effectively.

Student Support Coordinators

Young Audiences is seeking Summer Arts & Learning Academy (SALA) Student Support Coordinators to work side-by-side with the SALA Site and Program Directors to create and foster a positive, safe, and productive learning environment for all students and staff at the site. The Student Support Coordinator is a key member in developing the student support plan for the site, and will effectively oversee this plan throughout the summer. The coordinator will facilitate one-on-one and group conflict resolution sessions and provide in-classroom support when needed.

Paraprofessionals

Young Audiences is seeking Summer Arts & Learning Academy (SALA) Paraprofessionals to work hand-in-hand with SALA special educators in supporting ESY (Extended School Year) students enrolled in the Academy. Paras will provide support both through one-on-one interactions with students and through classroom support. Paras are responsible for providing reasonable accommodations to students and will support special educators in meeting ESY IEP goals for specific students. In addition to serving specific ESY students, Paras will support all students with special needs regardless of IEP status.
