Summer Arts & Learning Academy | Job Opportunities
Teachers and Special Educators
Young Audiences is seeking academic teachers and special educators with a strong desire to fully integrate into a non-traditional learning environment where flexibility is strongly valued and where new and innovative ideas are not only cultivated but expected from all staff. Teachers will be paired with a highly skilled teaching artist to provide daily arts-integrated math and literacy instruction and will serve as lead teacher for two daily 90-minute, arts-integrated classes, one math and one literacy (for teachers teaching grades K-2); or two sections of either 90 minutes of arts-integrated math or literacy (for teachers teaching grades 3-5).
Young Audiences is seeking professional artists of all disciplines with experience working with children in a formal or informal setting (such as a school, community center, summer camp, or arts workshop). At the Academy, you will collaborate with an experienced academic teacher to design and deliver arts-integrated lessons every morning, and, in the afternoons, will teach an arts focused class in your respective art form.
Fine Arts Teachers (Teaching Artists)
Young Audiences is seeking fine arts teachers of all disciplines (music, dance, theatre, visual and multi-media art). At the Academy, fine arts teachers have the opportunity to step into the role of teaching artists, collaborating with an experienced academic teacher to design and deliver arts-integrated lessons every morning, and each afternoon teach an arts focused class in your respective art form.
Young Audiences is seeking Artist Apprentices to work side-by-side with a professional teaching artist. Through active engagement during lessons, apprentices build valuable teaching skills while also nurturing the strengths, talents, and growth of Baltimore City students.
