Leap into Story

Noa Baum
Program Type

Students enjoy interactive discussions with dynamic activities and creative dramatics demonstrating how to tell a story in the storytelling residency Leap into Story. Students learn by working individually, in pairs, and in groups as Noa guides them to tell a story without memorization, learn story structure, develop the plot, listen to others, and use basic presentation techniques.

Typically, residencies range from $2,000 to $3,000, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities. Residencies are tailored to your needs but usually include:

  • A kick-off assembly
  • A required orientation meeting and planning session
  • A set of workshops for classes of up to 25 students each
  • A student culminating or sharing event
  • An evaluation meeting

For a rough estimate, residency prices include:

  • Artist assembly (see artist’s page for pricing)
  • A set of workshops ($100 each)
  • A required orientation meeting and planning session ($100 each)
  • An evaluation meeting ($100)
  • Mileage and supply costs depend on artist location and the residency chosen.

"Noa's residency was a huge success! It was obvious that the students walked away with many new skills. This residency allowed the students to express themselves and use their imagination in so many ways! They actively looked forward to their sessions together and could not wait to see Ms. Noa!"

Mary, Head Start Programs, Howard County Arts Council

"It is a joy to experience Noa’s enthusiastic delivery and passion for storytelling. I was consistently impressed with her creativity and ability to connect with both children and adults."

Tracy, Preschool Coordinator, Early Childhood Education Child Development Programs San Juan Unified School District

"I liked the time with Noa because I got to do things that I never did before, like dance in the middle of the circle."
