About this Artist
Brittany Roger of The Drawing Zoo taught arts integration at The Legacy School, participated in the Kennedy Center’s Artists as Educators Seminar and the Teaching Artist Institute and is a member of the Baltimore Art Education Coalition. She has a BFA in Illustration and Masters in Business of Art & Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She spent three years at the National Museum of Natural History illustrating squid, cataloging grasses and photographing snakes.
Brittany has been on the same path her whole life. Since she could hold a crayon, she has been a developing artist. And at the age of six, came home glowing with delight holding a big black rat snake from the yard. In college, she simultaneously entered the fields of scientific illustration and animal rescue. With her reliable, colorful team of animals she hopes to inspire students, build their creativity and confidence, and expand their horizons.
“It was an absolutely lovely experience! They were very knowledgeable about all the animals they brought and the animals had amazing temperament, can't wait to see them again!”
“Awesome opportunity for budding artists to experience drawing real live reptiles and other exotic creatures, while learning all about their unique characteristics. Offers great educational fun, and artistic challenge!”
