Practice a new art form during a hands-on session for groups of up to 25 students. Programs are 45 minutes and can be individual workshops or follow an assembly, reinforcing its content. An American Journey through Contemporary Dance Rhythms
Students will learn how to execute the basic steps and rhythms of Irish step dancing or the basic Latino rhythm of the Fandangos of the American southwest.

Students will explore percussive dance in a small group setting with Footworks artists.

Chinese Calligraphy
Students will explore Chinese calligraphy in a small group setting. There is an additional cost of $2.50 per student to order the necessary brush, ink, and paper for activities. (Workshop must be scheduled 45 days in advance so that materials can be ordered.)

Learn the elaborate art of writing Chinese characters and numbers.

Everyone is a Storyteller
Students will learn how to make a story come alive by using different voices, facial expressions, and movements. They will learn to tell one or more stories.

Poetry in Motion
Using selections from Quest's production "A Celebration of the Senses" or the school's English curriculum, this workshop encourages participants to explore physical interpretations to poetry. The process enhances the participant's understanding of the poetry through movement, gesture, or sign language. This workshop is ideal when expanded into a residency.

Fun with Fabric
What can you do with a piece of fabric? Quest introduces children and adults to an imaginative world where fabric can become a tree, house, or a car. Participants learn how fabric can create character or express mood. This is the perfect workshop for people with any level of theatre experience. This workshop can be expanded into a residency.

Family Fun
using visual theatre games and activities, parents and children become collaborators through the creative process. Why has this workshop become so popular? Listen to the laughter and look at the smiles on the faces of Family Fun participants, then you'll know. It can also be expanded into a residency.

Every Body Moving
This workshop is appropriate for participants with little or no experience in theatre or dance. Participants learn how to use their bodies as an expressive tool. The workshop includes movement warm-ups, exercises, and improvisations. It can also be expanded into a residency.

Play and Tell
Play with instruments and touch artifacts from small villages all over the world. Listen to a short story. Learn to tell a traditional folk tale as a collaborative team or as an individual. Arianna specializes in folk tales from India, Indonesia, Brazil, Egypt, Ireland, and Russia. Through the art of play, deepen your students understanding of story sequencing; increase their language development; knowledge of other cultures; their ability to work as a team. Students develop their own performance incorporated two or three folk tales that they have learned.
Grade Level: PreK-2
Taste of Storytelling
Discover what it takes to perform a story from memory. Learn specific storytelling techniques that you can use in the future to give a speech, tell a story or even perform in a play. Create the beginning of and structure for an entire story that you can share with a friend, a child, or at a performance venue.
