Assemblies

Assembly programs are live performances for PreK-12 grade audiences that are available through YA in a variety of mediums from traditional dance to film making. Book your assembly program today!

Assembly programs:

  • Are a wonderful way to introduce students to an artistic discipline and culture
  • Are 45 minutes in length and have a maximum audience size of 250 students unless otherwise specified
  • Have been developed in compliance with the Maryland Essential Learner Outcomes for the Fine Arts
  • Naturally connect to different areas of the curricula, and these connections can be deepened through the use of our Teacher Guides. (View sample teacher guide.)

Get ready for a humorous and illuminating slide-tour of Egypt during which Richard will display monuments, topography, artifacts and artwork, interlaced with his humorous depictions of modern life misplaced in Ancient Egypt. This program is full of audience participation as students quickly spot scenes such as Anubis, the guardian of the Underworld, roasting a hotdog over a Weber grill, or skiing down a pyramid.
Grade Level:4-5; 6-8; 9-12

Lights, Camera, Curriculum
Award-winning Film Maker and former educator J.P. Somersaulter demonstrates to students how movies and cartoons are made. This funny, fast-paced program for children of all ages includes cartoon drawings, character voices and student participation. Stress is also placed on the core curriculum: In order to succeed, film and video makers need to master language arts, math, and science.
Grade Level: K-5; 6-8; 9-12
Fee: Single Program - $525; Back-to-Back Program - $750
