Barry
Dove Percussion Trio
The trio’s members – Barry Dove, John
Thomakos and Robert Jenkins – have
performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra,
Harrisburg Symphony, Richmond Symphony, the Washington Contemporary Music Forum,
and The National Theater. Members also teach at the University of Maryland, Baltimore
County (UMBC) and Loyola College. Mr. Dove is a past winner of the Peggy and
Yale Gordon Concerto Competition and is a Gordon Artist. |

Caryl
Henry-Alexander, Visual Artist
Caryl has been commissioned to create murals, sculptures, site-specific installations
and paintings both here and abroad. She has exhibited extensively throughout
the United States and at the American Cultural Center in Ibadan, Nigeria. She
was a lecturer at the California College of Arts and Crafts teaching West African
YORUBA Art and Culture and Mixed Media painting. Caryl has recently been distinguished
as a Master Teaching Artist by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Rythm Express
Founder Al Saunders has been with the ensemble since its inception and has performed
for hundreds of thousands of Maryland's students. He has a Bachelors Degree in
Education from the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Over the years he has played
with many well-known artists including Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Jerry Lewis,
Gregory Hines, Elvis Presley, the Fifth Dimension, the Four Tops, the Temptations,
the Supremes, and James Brown. He is currently on the music faculty of The Children's
Guild in Baltimore.

Illstyle & Peace Productions, Hip-Hop Dance
Brandon "Peace" Albright and Forrest Webb founded Illstyle
& Peace Productions in 2002. Their affiliations and
performing credits inclide Crew Scanner Boyz, Boys II
Men, Will Smith, Ll Cool J, and Renee Harris Pure Movement.
The company, based in Philadelphia, PA, is a multicultural,
mixed-gender dance company whose work focuses on the
movement and spirit of hip-hop with a variety of performance
disciplines such as ballet, jazz, and tap. The company
delivers a positive message of individual expression
to worldwide audiences young and old.

Linda
Fang, Storyteller
A storyteller since the age of ten, Linda has been
featured at The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, The National
Theater, the Smithsonian and at storytelling festivals
in Canada, Austria, Singapore, and the Caribbean. Linda is the award-winning
author of The Ch’i-lin Purse, a collection of Ancient Chinese stories.
In 1998, she was named the National Storyteller of the Year and, in 2004, received
the Solo Theatrical Performer Award from the Maryland State Arts Council.

Jali-D,
the "Drum Talker"
David Foreman, a.k.a. Jali-D, is a longtime percussionist
and performance poet originally from Washington,
D.C. A graduate of Howard University, he is the
creator of "Rappercussions" an art form that combines intelligent and educational
rap with African style drumming. He has performed nationwide at numerous colleges,
festivals and nightclubs. He also performs with YAMD artist, Maria Broom, the “Story
Dancer. “

Footworks
Percussive Dance Ensemble
Footworks has toured nationally and internationally since 1979, including a Smithsonian
Institution tour of Japan, and as guest artists with Riverdance in London. Founder
and Artistic Director Eileen Carson is a National Endowment for the Arts Choreography
Fellow. She has been awarded a Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist
Choreography grant and was honored with an Annie Award from the Cultural Arts
Foundation of Anne Arundel County.

Carolyn
Kroerber, Puppeteer/Storyteller
Since 1969, she has been presenting puppet theatre that excites the imagination.
A truly unique and outstanding artist, storyteller, and puppeteer, Carolyn reaches
the hearts and minds of everyone in her audience. She has appeared at The Smithsonian,
The National Theater, and thousands of schools, libraries and community centers
in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Kevin
Gift, Pianist
Kevin began studying the piano at the age of four
in Caracas, Venezuela; first performing in public
at the age of seven. He received his professional
training at Emory University and the Northwestern
University School of Music. A winner of a Steinway
Society Grant, he has presented recitals in Annapolis,
Chicago, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. He’s
performed concerts for arts education organizations
including the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists
in Chicago and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's
Arts Excel Program.

Mark
Lohr (as MR.Jones), Actor/Vaudeville
Mark
Lohr as MR. Jones is an entertainer who has trained
and mentored with one of the greatest, modern Physical
Comics, Thomas Dougherty. He has fine-tuned his craft
through two decades of entertaining audiences across
North America. Mark has performed everywhere from
the prestigious stage of The Kennedy Center and the
Center Ring of the Circus to the sophisticated Meyerhoff
Symphony Hall. MR. Jones is known for his ability
to hilariously communicate volumes with or without
words!
