Artistic Director Paata Tsikurishvili has created Synetic Theater, one of the only professional Pantomime Theatre repertories for youth in the U.S. He uses Georgian (former Republic of the Soviet Union) pantomime traditions combined with dance, clowning, and music to create a professional pantomime repertoire for all ages. Tsikurishvili and Resident Choreographer, Irina Tsikurishvili, have been nominated twelve times for the prestigious Helen Hayes Awards in Washington, D.C. Irina has won four times for Choreography, and Paata has won Best Director and Best Resident Play.
The performers were just amazing…the kids absolutely loved the show. This was the best cultural event of our school year.

The entire student body and teachers were able to appreciate the theater art form in a whole new and exciting way, with the second graders benefitting from the cumulative hands-on experience. All students and teachers involved in the residency were engaged and enthusiastic and gained a wealth of knowledge from the performers. The entire school population benefited from exposure to a different art form than is in the current arts curriculum offered at the primary level. The gentlemen at Synetic were engaging, professional, and kept our students' rapt attention as they navigated through theater concepts. Teachers and students alike were very inspired by Synetic's abilities as performers as well as instructors.
